Introducing The New BMW M4 GTS
BMW has released images and information about their latest creation, the 2016 M4 GTS. This new model has a Nurburgring lap of a jaw-dropping 7:28. Power comes from a twin-turbo, 3.0L inline-6. The GTS has a bump of 16% more power than the standard M4, which results in a total of 493HP. In addition to the horsepower bump, torque sees a 10 % increase bringing it up to 442lb-ft of torque. The M4 GTS can sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in only 3.7 seconds, and a top speed on 189 mph.
Essentially, BMW has created a street-legal track car. Upfront you will find an adjustable front splitter, and an adjustable carbon fiber rear wing. In addition, there is a carbon fiber diffuser in the rear and a dazzling set of titanium exhaust quads.
Inside, you will find an alcantara-wrapped, sport steering wheel, carbon fiber front bucket seats (sport seats for the U.S.) and 3-point seat belts. In the backseat, there is actually no seat, instead you will find a glass fiber reinforced plastic shelf wrapped in alcantara. To bring all 493HP to a stop, the GTS features a set of carbon ceramic brakes, as well as an adjustable M-coilover suspension standard.
If that is not enough, the Clubsport package adds an acid orange roll bar, 6 point harness and a fire extinguisher. BMW will only produce 700 models with 300 of those going to the U.S.
