Groundbreaking Innovators: Koenigsegg One:1

Koenigsegg has long been a favorite of mine in the supercar world, from the far out designs they come up with to the stats that put Ferrari’s to shame.

Some unbelievable cars they’ve built over the years include the Agera, Agera R and the CCX to name a few. Once you really get into the world of supercar, you get past the usual Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Porsche’s etc., and you arrive at a bit of a grey area, which is situated somewhere between the big names and the smaller, more independent manufacturers.

Key names in this playing field are Pagani, Spyker and Koenigsegg to name a few. As part of my “Groundbreaking Innovators” series, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the all new Koenigsegg One:1.

The One:1 nomenclature is in reference to the cars perfect power to weight ratio, which is rated at 1,360 hp. This means the Koenigsegg One:1 has a distribution of 1 horsepower per kilo of weight, making it the worlds first mega car; 1360hp= 1 megawatt of power. The One: 1has the most power per kilo of weight and is the most powerful car ever built.

The One:1 has an app available to download which allows the owner to control different parts on the car. Using data downloaded from the 3G Cloud, you are able to adjust each damper spring in the suspension as well as adjust the active rear wing. With the cars 3G connectivity, the owner can download different track specifications to prepare the car for whatever you throw at it.

On the inside, the One:1 has gorgeous black alcantara seating, and orange stitching and accents to match the cars exterior paint job. In the cockpit the One:1 has snug bucket seats that grab you torso.

The One:1 has a full GP1 specification, but with twice as much power. The various winglets adjust depending on the vehicle speed, to provide as much down force and stability while braking. The titanium wrapped exhaust features air inlets underneath for gearbox cooling.
